Mrs. Mae Ola Wood Dawson, age 87, of Hazlehurst, died Friday, September 07, 2018 at Lumber City Nursing Home. Mrs. Dawson was born September 06, 1931 in Coffee County to the late Simon Wood and the late Leola McDaniel Wood. She was a Homemaker, loving mother, loving grandmother and member of Oakland Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Jerri Spivey, Nell Corbitt, Dolly Smith, Gay Dupree, Shelly Mae Batten, Shelton Wood and Simon Wood Jr. Survivors include her husband, Samuel Will Dawson of Hazlehurst; daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Randall Miller of Chatsworth, Gail and Tommy Hoggs of Dalton and Janice and Cliff Litke of Hazlehurst; sons and daughter-in-law, Boyce and Melba Dawson of Douglas and Eugene Dawson of Hazlehurst; ten grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6:00-9:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 10, 2018 at 2:00pm at Oakland Baptist Church with Rev. Royce Hulett and Rev. Joey Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Dawson will lie in state one hour prior to service.
