Mrs. Margaret Mack Merritt Dennis, age 82, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, January 06, 2019 at her residence.

Mrs. Dennis was born April 03, 1937 in Coffee County to the late James Merritt and the late Mary Smith Merritt.

She was retired from Wal-Mart Distribution and was a member of Macedonia Church of God. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Dennis, son, Daniel Lott Atkinson Jr., and brother, Roger Merritt.

Survivors include her daughters, Janice Powell of Lumber City and Bernice Atkinson Rojas of Hazlehurst; sons and daughter-in-law, Ladon Powell of Casper WY; Charles and Diane Powell of Hazlehurst, and Roy Powell of Hazlehurst; sisters, Mary Ann Gibbs and Betty Creamer; brothers, James Grady Merritt, Billy Eugene Merritt and Russell Merritt; fifteen grandchildren, twenty five      great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 09, 2020 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Van McCall officiating. Interment will follow in Palms Memorial Garden.
