Margaret Chavis Johnson, age 72, of Hazlehurst, died Thursday January 16, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. Mrs. Johnson was born July 1, 1941 in Jeff Davis County to the late Rev. Bob Chavis and the late Myrtice Yawn Chavis. She was the widow of J.W. Johnson, a Housewife and member of the Hazlehurst Church of God. Survivors include Two Daughters and Sons-In-Law, Vicki (Danny) Rewis of Alma and Jeannie (Brian) Williams of Warner Robins; Son and Daughter-In-Law, Ricky (Ronda) Johnson of Broxton; Three brothers, David Chavis, Cecil Chavis and Richard Chavis; Ten Grandchildren, Mandy, Andrea, Kayla, Alex, Caleb, Daniel, Cody, T.J., Karey and Kayla; Six Grandchildren, Ethan, Maggie, Zeke, Lilly, Paul and Tessa; Three Special Babies, Colby, Zoie and Ellie Kate; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 4:00pm at First Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Waters officiating. Interment will follow in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state 1 hour prior to service.
