Mr. Martin Lewis Stone, age 78, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Southeast Regional Hospital in Brunswick. Mr. Stone was born November 21, 1936 in Appling County to the late Early Stone and Floy Sellers Stone. He was a retired farmer and member of First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gariolene Creech Stone. Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice Dykes Stone of Hazlehurst; Daughter, Andrea Bloodworth of Warner Robins; Sons, Daryl Stone of Hazlehurst and Stanley Stone of Douglas; Step-Daughter, Sue Ann Sweat of Atlanta; Step-Son, Gregory Sweat of Douglas; Sister, Helen Jones of Baxley; Brothers, Glenn Stone and Gary Stone both of Baxley; Two Granddaughters, Reagan Stone and Whitney Stone both of Douglas; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Friday, August 28, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst with Rev. Brad Waters officiating. Interment will follow in Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Stone will lie in state one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst.
