Marvin B. Williams, age 87, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Williams was born February 20, 1927 in Laurens County to the late Vernon Dennis Williams and the late Anne Mae Mullis Williams. He was a Farmer, Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II, employed with Jeff Davis County, Bleckley County and Coffee County Boards of Education serving in many facets. He was a member of the Hazlehurst Masonic Lodge, Lions Club, retired Teachers Organization and First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Dennard Williams. Survivors include his Daughters and Sons in Law; Joyce Canfield of Marietta, Gail and Stanley Land of Hazlehurst and Hilda and Jeff Parker of Greensboro, N.C.; Son and Daughter-in-Law, Hugh Blanton (Blan) and Hope Williams of Hazlehurst; Sisters, Margaret Amundson of Augusta, Ezell Stapleton of Lumber City and Verna Jean Williams of Hazlehurst; Brother, Dennis Williams of Hazlehurst; Seven Grandchildren, Six Great-Grandchildren, Two Great-Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be Friday morning from 10:00-11:00am at First Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 20, 2015 at First Baptist Church at 11:00am with Rev. Brad Waters and Rev. J. Barry Owens officiating with interment in Palms Memorial Garden. The family may be contacted at the residence, 187 Fussell Road, Hazlehurst.
