Mary Sue Elton Day, age 53, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Community Hospice in Vidalia. Mrs. Day was born March 01, 1962 in Telfair County. She was employed with South Georgia Western Star of Douglas and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her Father, John Harden Elton Sr. Survivors include her Daughter, Mary Allison Day of Charleston, S.C.; Son, Michael Alexander Day of Hazlehurst; Mother, Shirley Lowery Elton of Hazlehurst; Sister and Brother-in-Law, Hazel and Tony King of Baxley; Brother and Sister-in-Law, John and Lisa Elton of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Thursday evening at the First United Methodist Church from 5:00-7:00pm with the Funeral Service to follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Rodney Porter officiating. Monetary Contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hazlehurst in honor of Mary Sue.
