Mrs. Mary Carolyn Lowery, age 80, passed away March 7, 2021 under the care of GHC Hospice after an extended illness.

Mrs. Lowery was born August 9, 1940 in Patterson, Georgia, but lived most of her life in Jeff Davis County.  She was preceded in death by her parents, James Clarence Creech Sr. and Lois McCall Creech, and a brother, James Clarence Creech Jr.   She was a member of First Baptist Church and was self-employed for many years.  Mary owned Gifts Galore in Hazlehurst for several years and was also co-owner with her husband at Western Auto.  When Mary wasn't working, she enjoyed decorating, traveling, shopping, playing cards, helping others, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Terri (Chris) Rush and Jackie Campbell (Jody Bass) all of Hazlehurst; seven grandchildren: Christen Campbell, Ross Rush, Ryan Rush, Allie Rush, Demi Rush, Jacie Campbell, and Samantha Bass.  She is also survived by two brothers: Buck (Linda) Creech, Buddy (Gail) Creech, one sister-in-law, Jean Creech, and four sisters Gladys (Earl) Rowland, Evelyn Gunter, Deanie Ellis, Shirley (Eddie) O'Neal, several nieces and nephews, as well as her caregiver, Nancy Jackson.

Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 10:00 at Hazlehurst City Cemetery with Rev. Brad Waters, Rev. Barry Owens, and Rev. Joe McLeod officiating. Patrick Owens will be delivering the eulogy.
