Mrs. Mavis Ann Clance Herndon, age 84, of Denton, died Tuesday, July 07, 2020 at Hazlehurst Court Care.

Mrs. Herndon was born July 01, 1936 in Jeff Davis County to the late Otis Clance and the late Mary Newham Clance.  She was a Homemaker and her most dedicated profession was serving as a minister's wife for many years. She was a founder and charter member of the Hazlehurst Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Mae Lowe.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Prentice Herndon of Denton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Rev. Thomas Colter of Denton and Tammy and Rev. Terry Davis of Denton; grandchildren, Freddie and Dedria Colter, Heather and Joseph Davis; great-grandchildren, Harleigh and Trevor Rentz, Hannah Wooten and Ethan Warnock, Ryleigh Colter, Olivia, Isabella and Joel Davis; sisters, Myrtle Frazier and Virginia Hand of Hazlehurst; nephews, Randy Rowell, Ricky (Teresa) Rowell also survive.

Graveside services will be held Friday, July 10, 2020 at 2:00pm in the Hazlehurst City Cemetery with Rev. Frank Wyatt officiating.

The family will greet friends from 12:00-1:30pm at Hazlehurst Pentecostal Church, 104 Jessie Thomas Road, Hazlehurst.
