Mr. Mickey Dewayne Rentz, age 65, of Hazlehurst, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Rentz was born December 15, 1953 in Bacon County to the late John Burton Rentz and the late Sarah Chappell Rentz. He was employed with Lee Construction and was preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya Renea Rentz and sons, Colby Rentz and Tracey Rentz, brothers, Jack Cain, George Cain and Randall Cain. Survivors include his wife, Sherry Kersey Rentz of Hazlehurst; sisters, Phyllis Williams, Maudrey Sanders, Hilda Bruce, Jan Jung, and Renee Rentz; brothers, Dwight Cain, J.D. Rentz, Merrell Rentz and Terry Rentz; five grandchildren, Trevor and Harleigh Rentz, Trista Rentz, Michelle (Rentz) Jackson Whisenant, Sharie Shuemake and Madison Rentz; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 01, 2019 at 11:00am at Zoar Baptist Church with Rev. Jinker Horton and Rev. Ronnie Wilcox officiating. Interment will follow in the Zoar Cemetery in Appling County. Mr. Rentz will lie in state one hour prior to service.
