Obituary

Milton McCalaster Coley, age 89, died Friday, April 12, 2013 in the Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross. Mr. Coley was born August 4, 1923 in Wilcox County to the late Christopher Columbus Coley & the late Victoria Martin Coley. He was a retired farmer & a member of Shelton's Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart, American Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, and WWII Victory Medal. He was also a Mason and a member of the American Legion & Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Myrtice Brewer Coley of Folkston; sons & daughters-in-law, Fred & Rollene Coley of Folkston and Keith & Debbie Coley of Belton, SC; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews. Visitation will be Saturday evening, 6-8pm, at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, 2:00 pm, at Shelton's Chapel United Methodist Church with interment following in the church cemetery. Mr. Coley will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made to Shelton's Chapel United Methodist Church (c/o Jimmy Walker 120 Redbird Lane Lumber City, Georgia 31549. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
