Mr. Dean Dixon, age 87, of Hazlehurst, died Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Lumber City Nursing Home. Mr. Dixon was born December 24, 1928 in Appling County to the late Emory Dixon and the late Sylvia Jones Dixon. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, there he received a Purple Heart after serving in the Korean Conflict, was retired from Hazlehurst Mills and a member of Grace Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Edna Livingston Dixon of Hazlehurst; two Sons and Daughters-in-law, Jerry and Janet Dixon of Odum and Ritchie and Paula Dixon of Dublin; Sisters, Mary (LeRoy) Percell of Glennville and Christine Dixon of Lake City FL; Three Grandchildren, Macey Duskin, Crystal Dixon and Andy Dixon; Four Great-Grandchildren, Brock Dixon, Bailey Dixon, Drew Dixon and Mason Dixon; and several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 18, 2016 with visitation from 10:00-2:00pm and Funeral Services starting at 2:00pm with Rev. Sam Holland and Rev. Andy Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Hazlehurst City Cemetery with full Military Honors. The family may be contacted at the residence, 40 Lakeside Drive, Hazlehurst.
