Mr. Will Dawson, age 91, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Lumber City Nursing Home. Mr. Dawson was born December 28, 1927 in Dodge County to the late Hoke Eugene Dawson and the late Evelyn Lowery Dawson. Since 1934 he has lived in Jeff Davis County, a retired Farmer and was retired from Jeff Davis County Road Department. He was a faithful member of Oakland Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mae Ola Wood Dawson, sister, Eugenia Bell Dawson. Survivors include his three daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Randall Miller of Chatsworth, Gail and Tommy Hogg of Dalton and Janice and Cliff Litke of Hazlehurst; two sons and daughter-in-law, Boyce and Melba Dawson of Douglas and Eugene Dawson of Hazlehurst; ten grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 2:00pm at Oakland Baptist Church with Rev. Royce Hulett and Rev. Joey Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Dawson will lie in state one hour prior to service.
