MSGT W.E. (Buck) Wasdin, age 82, of Hazlehurst, died Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Genesis Hazlehurst Center. Mr. Wasdin was born September 4, 1931 in Millhaven Georgia to the late Johnnie G. Wasdin and the late Oma Lee Jeffers Wasdin. He was a retired Veteran serving in the United States Air Force with 28 years of service, serving in the Vietnam War, receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, was a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeants Association and member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Hilda M. Wasdin of Hazlehurst; Two Daughters and Sons-In-Law, Alice (Guy) Copeland of Fairfax Station, VA and Connie (David) Edwards of Austin, TX; Grandson, Bryan D.W. Edwards of Sanantonio, TX; Two Granddaughters, Michelle (Mark) Hale of Warrenten, VA. and Kelly (Michael) David of Austin, TX; Six Great-Grandchildren, Kyle & Jacob Edwards, Evan & Ethan David and Julia & Sara Hale. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 6-8pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor with Rev. J. Barry Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst City Cemetery. Family may be contacted at the residence, 99 Burketts Ferry Road, Hazlehurst.
