Obituary

Nolan Colter, age 64, of Lumber City, died Saturday, September 20, 2014 at his home. Mr. Colter was born October 21, 1949 in Telfair County. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the United States Army, was retired from Colter and Son Ceramic Tile and was a member of Lumber City Church of God. He was preceded in death by his father, Freddy Colter and brother, David Ambus Colter. Survivors include his daughter, Cindy Sammons of Hazlehurst; Two Sons and Daughter-In-Law, Dwight and Tammy Colter of Hazlehurst and Ryan Colter of Lumber City; Mother, Susie Colter of Lumber City; Brother and Sister-In-Law, Thomas and Wendy Colter of Hazlehurst; Four Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 22, 2014, at 3:00 PM at Lumber City Church of God with Rev. David Deen and Rev. Niles Dixon officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Mr. Colter will lie in state one hour prior to Funeral Service. Family may be contacted at the residence at 434 Cattle Rd. Alamo, GA. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Nolan Colter, age 64, of Lumber City.
