Mrs. Opal Swain Carroll, age 81, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, November 5, 2017 at her daughter's home. Mrs. Carroll was born June 11, 1936 in Jeff Davis County to the late Dude Swain and the late Odessa Yarbrough Swain. She was a retired Supervisor with Chaparral Boat and member of the Red Hill Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Carroll, brothers, Boddie Swain and Doy Swain, great-granddaughter, Cassidy Clark and great-grandson, Elijah Faulkner. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law's, Betty and Linton Stephens of Hazlehurst and Dianne and Ronnie Clark of N. Augusta, South Carolina; sisters, Hazel Dyal of Baxley, Winifred Mathis of Hazlehurst and Ethelyn Creech of Hazlehurst; six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 08, 2017, visitation will begin at 1:00pm and funeral to follow at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffery Spell and Rev. Andy Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Opal Swain Carroll, age 81, of Hazlehurst.
