Mr. O.F. Callahan Jr., age 88, of Hazlehurst, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 following an extended illness.

Mr. Callahan was born in Montgomery County to the late Oscar Franklin Callahan Sr. and the late Mary Hutcheson Callahan. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He retired after twenty eight years of teaching Industrial Arts at Jeff Davis County High School and was the founder of Callahan Nursery and Landscaping where he worked most of his life.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst and was an avid fisherman, which was his only hobby.  He is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Craft Keen and brother, Lee Callahan.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Grace Moseley Callahan of Hazlehurst; two sons,

Mark G. Callahan of Hazlehurst and Franklin E. Callahan (Marie) of Starkville MS; sisters, Lett Toler of Philadelphia PA and Jewell Callahan of Atlanta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Monday, June 22, 2020 at 11:00am at Moseley Cemetery with Rev. J. Barry Owens officiating.
