Mrs. Othella Owens Powell, age 89, of Lumber City, died Monday, August 23, 2021 at her residence.

Mrs. Powell was born November 05, 1931 in Wheeler County.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Doc Owens and Eula Pearl Dickens Owens, sister, Beulah Thompson, and brothers, Donald Owens, Robert Owens and Morgan Owens. Years ago she was employed with Jeff Davis Hospital as a nurse but in later years, she became a homemaker, loving and taking care of Mr. Robert and her family. She was a member of Fishing Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Robert R. Powell of Lumber City; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Joey Browning of Lumber City; son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Powell of Denton; three grandchildren; Michael Browning, Delvin Powell and Jessica Folk; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the charity of your choice in honor of Mrs. Powell.
