Mr. Henry Rabun Beasley, age 87, of Hazlehurst, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Jeff Davis Hospital.

He was born on December 2, 1938, near Cobb Creek in Lyons, Georgia to the late Henry Beasley and Alene Phillips Beasley. Mr. Rabun was the founder and owner/operator of Beasley Timber Company in Hazlehurst, a business he established in 1969 and faithfully grew into the successful operation it remains today. A natural leader, Mr. Rabun led by example in every aspect of his life, earning the respect and admiration of those who knew him. He was Baptist by faith and a devoted member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He loved the Lord wholeheartedly and never missed an opportunity to share his faith and tell others about Jesus. He genuinely loved people and had a remarkable gift for making friends wherever he went. Many cherished conversations were shared over a cup of coffee with friends at Huddle House.

Mr. Rabun found great joy in farming, tending his garden, and bird hunting, but nothing brought him greater happiness than his family. Above all else, he treasured the time he spent with those he loved, especially his beloved wife of 50 years, the love of his life, Jo.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine “Jo” Claxton Beasley; his daughter, Pollyanna Beasley Livingston; his brother, David Beasley; his grandson, Dustin Livingston, and his great-granddaughter, Hadley Beasley.

Mr. Rabun is survived by his son, Darrell (Sharleen) Beasley of Hazlehurst; his daughter, Deborah (Zachary) Johnson of Hazlehurst; his sister, Ethelene Allen of Vidalia; thirteen grandchildren, Christin (Aaron) Mizell of McRae, Lauren (Ty) Craft of Hazlehurst, Lindsey (Anthony) Droz of North Carolina, DeAnna (Seth) Williams of Pooler, Alyssa (Chad) McGowan of Pennsylvania, Grant (Jamie) Beasley, Jordan (Jessica) Beasley, Truss (Christina) Beasley, all of Hazlehurst, Daniel (Victoria) Beasley of Lyons, Bennie Beasley of Hazlehurst, Jared Johnson of Pooler, Bryce (Morgan) Livingston of Virginia, and Cole (Hope) Livingston of Lumber City; fifteen great-grandchildren, Raelan, Lizzy, Hughston, Easton, Adelyn, Ella, Emma, Rowan, Jaxon, Scarlett, Bentley, Mileigh, Lane, Crew, Emorie, and one great-granddaughter on the way; his son-in-law, Josh Livingston of Hazlehurst; his loving caregivers, Denise Bryant and Beth England; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst with Rev. Keith Yawn, Rev. Ashley Tyree, and Rev. Brad Waters officiating. Burial will follow in the Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Grant Beasley, Jordan Beasley, Truss Beasley, Daniel Beasley, Bennie Beasley, Jared Johnson, Bryce Livingston, and Cole Livingston.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Thompson, Jerome Earl Tillis, Alec Campbell, Jimmy McLeod, James Stewart, Becky Waters, Linwood Truitt, Ronnie Sellers, Tommy and Shannon Campbell, Rhonda Herndon, Destiny Miles, Rabun’s Huddle House Breakfast Club, and members of his Sunday School class.
