Ray W. Sapp, age 84, of Baxley, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Candler Hospital in Savannah. Mr. Sapp was born May 4, 1930 in Toombs County to the late Linton Sapp and the late Mary Stone Sapp, but had resided most of his life in Appling County. He was a Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict, was a Public Relation Consultant with Mack Truck Lines and attended the Baxley Church of God. He is preceded in death by his wife, Murle Hill Sapp. Survivors include a Daughter and Son-In-Law, Cheryl and Marion Porter of Charleston, SC.; Two sisters, Clovis Johnson of Kentucky and Carolyn Sellers of Graham; Three Granddaughters, Mandy Newman, Amanda Taylor and Samantha Shook all of Charleston, SC.; Eight Great-Grandchildren, Quston Taylor, Haylee Newman, Andrew Wells, Adaline Shook, Kloe Shook, Alexa Taylor, Zelia Shook and Myah Shook; several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 20, 2014 at 10:00am in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery in Appling County. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Ray W. Sapp, age 84, of Baxley.
