Ray Harold Wooten, age 77, of Hazlehurst passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Monday, September 19,2022. Ray was a hard-working, successful business owner and also served Jeff Davis County as a County Commissioner and Chairman for a number of years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching golf and football on TV. Ray loved to visit and laugh with his family and friends.

Mr. Wooten is preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Evelyn Wooten and brother Donald Wooten.
Ray is survived by his loving wife: Patricia Conner Wooten; Step-daughters: Angie Fussell Varnadoe and Kathy Fussell Brinkely; Grandchildren: Zac Newham, Blakelee(Grant) Merritt, Courtney Knowles(Clayton), Grant Brinkley and Layla Brinkley; nine great grandchildren. Brothers: Thomas (Dorothy) Wooten and Olin (Miriam) Wooten; sister: Winona Hartung; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 23, 2022 at 11:00 am in Wainright Parlor Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Palms Memorial Garden in Hazlehurst.
Active Pallbearers are Zac Newham, Grant Brinkley, Grant Merritt, Clayton Knowles, Van Wooten and
Francisco Hernandez.
Honorary Pallbearers are all his wonderful friends in attendance.

The family will be gathering at 71 First Road Hazlehurst, GA.
