Obituary

Rev. James Edward Ursrey, age 78, of Hazlehurst, died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Jesup. Mr. Ursrey was born May 6, 1935 in Appling County to the late Virgil Lee Ursrey, Sr. and the late Lucille Strickland Ursrey. He was a retired Free Will Baptist Minister, having served Corinth Free Will Baptist Church, Oak Hill Free Will Baptist Church & Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church all in Bacon County, Satilla Free Will Baptist Church in Jeff Davis Co., Midway Free Will Baptist Church in Moultrie, First Free Will Baptist Church of Columbus, First Free Will Baptist Church of Jesup, New Home Free Will Baptist Church in Colquitt, & Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Appling Co. He was a member of Satilla Free Will Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Quinn Ursrey, sister, Evelyn Gay and brother, Wilbur Ursrey. Survivors include, Daughters & Sons-In-Law, Teresa (Randy) Prather of Columbus and Kim (Billy) Westberry of Jesup; Brothers, Raymond (Vicki) Ursrey, Travis (Sandy) Ursrey, Randy (Debra) Ursrey, Virgil (Elaine) Ursrey, Jr., Kenny (Felecia) Ursrey, Ricky (Sally) Ursrey and Terry Ursrey; Sisters, Gloria Jean (Roger) Beecher, Wannell (Harry) Yawn, Barbara McLoon and Anna Faye (Julian) Black; Sister-In-Law, Jean Ursrey; Grandchildren, Randy Allen (Tonya) Prather, Blake (Jory) Prather, Amber (Chad) Baker, Caleb (Sara) Graham, Garrett Graham, Quinn Prather, Sandy Westberry, Kristy Westberry and Helen Westberry; Great-Grandchildren, Brent, Maria, Shane, Emily, Julianna, Lilli, Colin, Dustin, Alysia, Paisley, Cabela, & Zander; tons and tons of nieces and nephews and a very dear Friend, Uncle Tommy Dean. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5-8pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 20, 2013 at 2pm at Satilla Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Smith, Rev. Herbert Waid and Rev. Steve Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Ursrey will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service time. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Golden Living Nursing Home and Heartland Hospice for their loving care of their Daddy. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
