Richard Roy Anderson, age 58, of Hazlehurst passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024.

Mr. Anderson was a member of Graham Church of God and born in Baxley to the late Homer Lamar Anderson and Grace Evelyn Hesters. He worked for Hazlehurst Mills. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing pool. Mr. Roy was a good cook and loved to cook spaghetti. He also liked to watch sports on TV. He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Lenora Taylor Anderson of Hazlehurst, brothers, Danny Anderson (Angie) of Hazlehurst, Chris Anderson of Metter, sisters, Shirley Poe (Joel), Elaine Braswell (Doug), Melissa Wilson all of Hazlehurst.

Services for Mr. Anderson will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Graham Church of God beginning at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Don Dixon and Rev. Alvin Merritt will officiate.

Wendell Floyd, Lee Floyd and Wilbur Calhoun Jr., Randy Carter, Stacey Sellers, and Jamie Taylor will serve as pall bearers.

Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
