Roger Eugene Varnadore, age 61, of Alma, died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Mr. Varnadore was born July 26, 1952 in Bacon County to the late Norman Varnadore and the late Ola Sue Cleveland Varnadore. He was employed with Propex and a member of Unity Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Grayson Varnadore. Survivors include his wife, Gean Johnson Varnadore of Alma, Four Sons, Kevin (Dana) Quinn of Alma, Rodney (Jennifer) Varnadore of Shreveport, Lo, Jessie (Mandy) Varnadore of Baxley and Josh Foskey of Denton; Three Daughters, Misty (John) Edge of Douglas, Myra (Shelby) Carrillo of Alma and Amy (Brian) McCollum of Alma; Sister, Beverly Jordan of Alma; Two Brothers,Clyde Varnadore and Tony Varnadore both of Hazlehurst; 29 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Varnadore will be moved Sunday to his residence, 963 Stream Road, Alma, to lie in state. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 20, 2014 at 11:00am at Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Varnadore will lie in state 1 hour prior to service at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to any organ donor transplant organization. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Roger Eugene Varnadore, age 61, of Alma.
