Ronnie Summerlin, age 68, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Hazlehurst Court Care. Mr. Summerlin was born August 30, 1948 in Jeff Davis County. He was a Correctional Officer and member of Southside Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his father, Hoyt Summerlin and mother, Lillian Beecher Rentz. Survivors include his daughter, Regan Smith (Deon) of Ocilla; two sons, Kyle Summerlin of Hazlehurst and Clay Summerlin of Atlanta; three sisters, Kay Davis of Westgreen, Pam Brigmon of Westgreen and Rhonda Rentz of Hazlehurst; four brothers, Garry Moore of Westgreen, Larry Rentz of Brunswick, Dennis Rentz of Hazlehurst and Stan Rentz of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11:00am at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Deek Dubberly officiating. Mr. Summerlin will lie in state one hour prior to service. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Ronnie Summerlin, age 68, of Hazlehurst.
