Rosa Kerns Dixon, age 86, of Hazlehurst, died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Pineland Personal Care Home. Mrs. Dixon was born September 01, 1928 in Jeff Davis County to the late John Cargile Powell and Sallie Eula Partin Powell. She was a Homemaker and member of the Hazlehurst Church of God serving several years as Sunday School Teacher and President of the Ladies Auxiliary. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Parnell Kerns. Survivors include her Husband Steve Dixon of Hazlehurst; Daughter and Son-in-Law, Karen and Tyrone Hutchinson of Hazlehurst; Two Sons and Daughters-in-Law, Jimmy and Edye Kerns and Kel and Linda Kerns both of Hazlehurst; Step-Son, Steve Dixon of Jacksonville Fl.; Seven Grandchildren, Fourteen Great-Grandchildren and One Great-Great-Grandchild; Two Sisters, Irma Dixon of Camden, South Carolina and Florence Withers of Jacksonville, Fl.; Brothers, Winston Powell of Jacksonville Fl. and Dewitt Powell of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Hazlehurst Church of God. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 26, 2015 at 2:00pm at the Hazlehurst Church of God with Rev. Tyrone Hutchinson and Rev. Nathan Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Palms Memorial Gardens.
