Royce Powell, age 63, of Denton, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at Jeff Davis Hospital. Mr. Powell was born February 16, 1951 in Jeff Davis County to the late Komer Woodard Powell and the late Cora Belle Wooten Powell. He was employed with Beasley Timber as a Truck Driver and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church. He was preceded in death by his brother Jerome Powell. Survivors include his wife, Donna Hutto Powell of Denton; Daughter, Jade Rena Powell of Denton; Son, Jeremy Royce Powell of Roswell; Twin Sister, Joyce Ferro of Denton; Brother, Jerry Powell of Douglas; Grandson, Dylan Cade Dennis of Denton and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 11:00am at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Kenyon Fennell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Powell will lie in state 1 hour prior to service time.
