Ms. Ruby Taylor Pickren, age 82, of Hazlehurst, died Thursday, October 11, 2023 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup.

Ms. Pickren was born April 16, 1941 in Bacon County.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ledley Taylor and Ruby Dubberly Taylor, husband, George Dewey Pickren, daughter, Cynthia Ann Pruitt and son, Van Pickren.

She was an amazing cook; she loved to read and collect cook books. She was avid gardener, her family said she had a green thumb and she was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church. She was a friendly loving person never met a stranger and she will be sadly missed by all.

Survivors include her son, Wade Pickren of Hazlehurst; sister, Wildaree Lewis of Alma; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:30pm with Rev. Ronnie Wilcox and Rev. Jinker Horton officiating.

The family will receive friends at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
