Rusty Roberson, Hazlehurst resident, age 49, died at Coffee Regional Hospital, in Douglas, GA, 31 March. Mr. Roberson was born 20 September 1967 in Jeff Davis County to Patricia Lackey and Roy Roberson of Hazlehurst. He was a member of Satilla Freewill Baptist Church. Having grown up in the First Methodist Church of Hazlehurst. Mr. Roberson was an advocate of Satilla Park. A graduate of Jeff Davis Class of 1985, and Southeastern Tech, Vidalia, GA. He is survived by his wife, Melissa (Lisa) Neely Roberson; mother, Patricia Lackey; father, Roy E. Roberson; sisters, Cheryl Williams (Binky) Hazlehurst, Cherry Middleton (Dennis) Jesup, Penny Broome, Augusta, GA, Amber Adams (Jeremy) Hazlehurst; brothers, Chan Roberson, Hazlehurst, Steven Broome (Gina) Washington, GA; step-son, Brandon Neely, Hazlehurst. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Mr. Roberson will be placed in the church to lie in state one hour prior to the service. Services to be held 04 April, at 4:00 p.m., at Satilla Free Will Baptist Church in Satilla Community.
