Mr. Sampson Emanuel Jones, age 94, of Hazlehurst, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Genesis Healthcare in Hazlehurst. Mr. Jones was born September 20, 1921 in Jeff Davis County to the late Ossie Wells and the late Ruby A. Nelson Wells. He was a Veteran of World War II serving in the Army, retired Farmer and member of Kirkland Grove Church. He is preceded in death by his Wife, Lola Mae Jones, Daughter, Eunice Lee Johnson, Sons, Ossie E. Jones and Alpherd D. Jones, Sister, Connie Tillman, Brother, George W. Wells and Billy Wells, Grandson, Samuel Johnson. Survivors include one Son, Sampson E. (Mary) Jones Jr.; Adopted Son, Marcus Trowell; Granddaughter, Donita Johnson, Grandson, Tyrone Williams and several Nieces and Nephews. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 at St. Matthews AME Church, visitation starting at 10:00am and Funeral starting at 12:00pm with Rev. Christopher Johnson and Rev. Claude Cobb officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Sampson Emanuel Jones, age 94, of Hazlehurst.
