Sandra Summerlin Carter, age 69, of Hazlehurst, died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta. Mrs. Carter was born February 21, 1947 in Jeff Davis County to the late Brady Summerlin and the late Wilma Quinn Summerlin. She was a retired Dental Assistant with Dr. Gina Roberts and member of the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Cadle Carter of Hazlehurst; daughter, Sheena Spell Black of Baxley; step-daughters, Claudia Dawn McCullar of Lumber City and Courtney Nashae Hand of Hazlehurst; son, Peyton Randolph Sweat of North Augusta S.C.; step-son, Cary Lucas Carter of Hazlehurst; sister, Lynda Lotich of Winston-Salem N.C.; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survived. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 1:00pm at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Yawn officiating.
