Mrs. Sara Elder Dykes, age 76, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, April 09, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Dykes was born April 04, 1942 in Wilcox County to the late Harper Brown Elder and the late Thelma Peacock Head. She was retired from Hazlehurst Mills and a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Lois Crews, Jack Elder and James Elder. Survivors include her husband, Pearlie Dykes of Hazlehurst; Son and Daughter-in-law, Royce and Sherrie Dykes of Hazlehurst; two grandchildren, Emily and Eric Dykes of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00-9:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Yawn and Rev. David Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst City Cemetery. The family may be contacted at the residence, 263 GA Hwy 107, Hazlehurst.
