Mrs. Sarah Lane Garrett Freytag, age 77, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Lumber City Nursing Home. Mrs. Freytag was born September 14, 1940 in West Palm Beach to the late Roger Mills Garrett and the late Essie Annie Cooner Garrett and was a house wife. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Lee Freytag,children, Darrell Davis, Cathy Floyd, Karen Lolies and Richard Carlton, brothers Billy Garrett, S.L. Garrett and Vernon Garrett. Survivors include daughter, Lori Simpson of Hazlehurst; sons Leon Davis of Hazlehurst and Jeff Knox (Trisha) of Ocala FL; sisters, Joyce Carpenter (Dolin) of Elk Park North Carolina and Susan Powell of Hazlehurst; brothers, Roger Garrett (Sandy) of Ft Myers FL and Leo Garrett of W. Palm Beach; 29 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special cousin, Janell Longwell; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2018, in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home, visitation will begin at 1:00pm and funeral services will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Alvin Merritt officiating. Interment will follow in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery. The family may be contacted at the residence of her daughter, Lori Simpson, 205 N. Williams Street, Hazlehurst.
