Steve Mathis, age 69, of Hazlehurst, died Friday, June 05, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Mathis was born in Wheeler County to the late Ira Green Mathis and the late Juanita Ora Watson Mathis.

Steve was retired from Williams Brothers Trucking and formerly a member of Hazlehurst Church of God.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Pat Mathis and brother, Larry Mathis.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Bobby Taylor of Hazlehurst and Tonya and Brad Stone of Hazlehurst; four grandchildren, Cassandra Dukes (Daniel), Ty Taylor, Andria Stone and Brandon Stone; two great grandchildren, Zaylee Dukes and Fynnlee Dukes; nephew, Nyle Ursrey great-nephews, Blayne Ursrey and Evan Ursrey; several cousins also survive.

Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 2:00pm at the Hazlehurst Church of God with Rev. John Nunes officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Steve can be made to the family, 48 Elton Street, Hazlehurst.
