Susan Catherine Ely, age 68, of Hazlehurst, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026, peacefully at home.

She was born on June 18, 1958, in Elizabeth, New Jersey and had resided in Freehold, New Jersey prior to settling in Hazlehurst 8 years ago.

Susan worked as an administrator at Centre State Hospital in Freehold for 17 years until she retired in 2016.

She was predeceased by her mother Genevieve and her son Raymond.

She was a loving and devoted wife for 50 years to her husband Raymond, a loving and dedicated mother to her 2 children, Raymond and Jason, and an adoring and proud grandmother to her 2 grandsons, Alex and Brendan.

Susan is also survived by her sister Judy- who she loved dearly, 3 sister-in-laws Michelle, Stacey and Valerie and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Visitation on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 3pm-5pm in the chapel of Wainright Parlor Funeral Home, 3 East Odum Street Hazlehurst, GA 31539.
