Thomas Gordon Martin, age 78 of Hazlehurst passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Mr. Martin was born in Rome, GA to the late Alton Martin and Earnestine Nixon Smith. Mr. Thomas was a trucker by trade and enjoyed every moment. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alton Martin and Earnestine Smith, wife, Carol Martin, brother, Frankie Smith and stepfather, George Frank Smith. He was a simple man but loved life and he will be missed by many.

He is survived by his son, Chris Martin (Dawn) of Leesburg, sisters, Kathy Whitt, Peggy Parrott (Jimmie), Gina Vance (Jimmy), grandchildren, Austin Martin, Macey Martin, Bethanie Kiger, Evan Pate, great grandchildren, Preston Hardegree and Zander Smith.

Services for Thomas will be held Sunday, April 14, 2024, in the Chapel of Wainright & Parlor beginning at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. Hal Jeffcoat will officiate. Interment will follow at Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.

Evan Pate, Mark Parrott, Jay Miller, Shayne Butts, Jason Parrott, Josh Butts will serve as pall bearers.

Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
