Rev. Thomas Linton Stephens Sr., age 68, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Jeff Davis Hospital.

Mr. Stephens was born July 09, 1951 in Appling County to the late Benjamin (Benny) Stephens and the late Fannie Kicklighter Stephens. He was a retired Baptist Pastor, Contractor and a member of Southside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank Stephens, Eugene Stephens, Henry Stephens, Cordell Stephens and Ameila Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Faulkner Stephens of Hazlehurst; two sons, Thomas Linton Stephens Jr. of Nahunta and James Allen Stephens of Graham; sisters, Wynell Yawn of Roanoke Ala., Dorothy Dyal of Statesboro and Geneva Hutchinson of Baxley; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survived.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 2:00pm at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Glossen officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Stephens will lie in state one hour prior to service.
