Mr. Van W. McLoon Sr., age 76, of Hazlehurst, crossed over Friday, August 07, 2020 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia.
Mr. McLoon was born November 04, 1943 in Jeff Davis County to the late James McLoon and the late Louise Beall McLoon. He was a devoted family man known for his hard work ethic and was also a Truck Driver. He was a member of the Hazlehurst Church of God and was preceded in death by his siblings, Marion McLoon Smith, Jim McLoon and Bill McLoon.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Kathleen (Kat) Boyett McLoon of Hazlehurst; son and daughter-in-law, Van Jr and Debbie McLoon of Eulonia; daughter and son-in-law, Sonia and Jimmy Music of Douglas; brother, Max McLoon (Gail) of Lumber City; sister, Ann Dixon (Bennett) of Pooler; grandchildren, Adam McLoon, Tommy Wilson Jr., Jacob Music, and Jesse Music; great-granddaughter, Brailee Wilson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, August 09, 2020 at 2:00pm at Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery with Rev. John Nunes and Ms. Betty Williams officiating.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the McLoon family and Wainright Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to wear a mask and follow the social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC.
