Mrs. Vanell Buckins Owings, age 92, of Hazlehurst, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at her residence.

Mrs. Owings was born April 07, 1928 Jeff Davis County.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Buckins and Nancy Bryant Buckins, husband, Irvin Lawrence Owings, siblings, David Andrew Owings, Michael Kenneth Owings, Harry Lawrence Owings, and Nancy Ruth Dykes, brothers Charlie Buckins and CPL Andrew Buckins, sisters, Rainey Clance, Ovita Clance and Dinky Hutchinson.

She was a Homemaker and a member of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist.

Survivors include daughters, Carolyn Ann Courson of Hazlehurst, Lanell McKinney (Ernest) of Hazlehurst; Sharon Smith (Nathan) of Statesboro; sons, Ralph Edward Owings (Brenda) of Hazlehurst, Johnny Owings of Hazlehurst, Charles Raymond Wheeler (Patsy) of Baxley; eleven grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Cindy Owings of Tennille; several several great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 11:00am at Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery with Minister Bobby Larisey officiating.
