Mrs. Vermell Towns, age 83, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, March 06, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Towns was born August 27, 1935, in Odom to the late Dave Madison Daniels and the late Bealer Channell Daniels. She was retired from Hazlehurst Mills and a member of Satilla Free Will Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Towns. Survivors include her daughters, Laurencene Carden of Hazlehurst, Edna Hughes (Edward) of Hazlehurst, Patsy Hughes (Dearl) of Hazlehurst and Helen Simmons (Martin Lewis) of Hazlehurst; Honorary sisters, Betty Lloyd of Yulee FL and Shirley Towns of Towns; sixteen grandchildren, host of great and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 08, 2019 at 2:00pm at Satilla Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Towns will lie in state one hour prior to service.
