Mr. Grady Vernon Thompson, age 82, of hazlehurst, died Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Hazlehurst Court Care. Mr. Thompson was born January 07, 1936 in Jeff Davis County to the late George Thompson Sr. and the late Hattie Elizabeth Kersey Thompson. He was a Farmer and member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Davis Thompson and siblings, George Thompson, Jr., Odessa Hayes, Albert Thompson, Athell Beecher and Charles Thompson. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Vernice and Ernesto Lopez of Hazlehurst, Sheila and Wayne Murphy of Hazlehurst and Rebecca and Johnny Waters of Hazlehurst; sister, Laura (Nick) Hazelton of Macon; three brothers, Edward (Weda) Thompson of Byron, J.C. (Maude) Thompson of Midway and Wilson (Gina) Thompson of Macon; five grandchildren, Jason (Heather) Murphy, Anthony (Cindy) Hughes, Constance (Treat) Woodcock, Jessica (KC) Griffin and Crystal Gayle Hughes; four great-grandchildren, Bailee Jewel Hughes, Leighanna (JJ) Smith, Lillie Beth Hughes and Gage Woodcock; one great-great-grandson, Braxton Tate Smith; step-grandchildren, Darrell Waters, Keith Waters, Josefina Perez, Gaby Quinn and Monica Wilcox; step-great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Katie and Amery Waters, Alaina Waters, Ezteran, Uziel and Alexzander Perez, Gia and Jantzen Quinn, Juilianna and Parker Wilcox, Rylee and Kenlee Griffin; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Duckworth officiating. Interment will follow in Palms Memorial Garden. The family may be contacted at the residence, 186 Carey Johnson Circle, Hazlehurst.
