Ms. Virginia Jo Clance Hand, age 78, of Hazlehurst, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Hazlehurst Court Care in Hazlehurst.

Ms. Hand was born July 17, 1943 in Jeff Davis County.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Otis Arthur Clance and Mary Newham Clance, husband, Rev. James Edison Hand, sisters, Rita Mae Rentz Lowe and Mavis Clance Herndon. Ms. Hand was a Minister and a member of Snipesville Full Gospel/New Hope Ministries. She had a special love for her animals and flowers and will be sadly missed by all that knew her and loved her.

Survivors include her sister, Myrtle Frazier of Hazlehurst; brother-in-law, Rev. Prentice Herndon of Denton; nieces, Wendy and Thomas Colter of Denton, Tammy and Terry Davis of Denton; nephews, Randy Rowell of Hazlehurst and Ricky Rowell of Valdosta; several great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 2:00pm at Hazlehurst City Cemetery with Rev. Randy Rowell officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be stall members of Hazlehurst Court Care and Southern Care Hospice..
