Mr. Walter Floyd Newham, 79, of Hazlehurst, passed away September 30, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Newham was born April 8, 1942 in Hazlehurst and was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Ocie McEachin Newham and daughter, Brenda Shipes.

Mr. Newham was a retired Highway Superintendent with the State of Georgia and was a member of the Light House Baptist Church in Hazlehurst. He was a loving husband and wonderful father and grandfather. Mr. Newham enjoyed traveling with his wife and sharing his garden with family and friends.  He is survived by his wife: Pearl Dyal Newham; Sons: Mitchell Newham (Lisa), Greg Newham and Robby Shipes; Grandchildren: Zac Newham, Brendon Newham, Nicholas McCloon, Lee Mincey, Chan Shipes and Angel Covington; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Max Newham officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Zac Newham, Brandon Smith, Pierce Parlor, Perry Toler, Chad Toler and Benji Poore.
