Ms. Wanda Rainey Gillis, age 85, of Hazlehurst, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the Bethany Home in Vidalia.

Ms. Gillis was born on February 27, 1938, in Soperton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Seward Rainey and Vera McCranie Rainey, husband, Lester Gillis and daughter, Jeanine Gillis.

Ms. Wanda was a Southern, Classy, Sassy soul.

She was an avid cat lover and was always adventurous, she always enjoyed her trips to the mountains. She enjoyed working and in her later years, in her mind, she was always working and staying busy.

She was loved dearly by her friends and will be sadly missed by all.

Survivors include her loving friends, Carroll and Lori Moye and Clint and Laurene Owens.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, February 23, 2024, at 11:00am in the West View Cemetery in Soperton Georgia with Rev. Chuck Morgan officiating.
