Mr. Dave Davenport, age 92, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, April 10, 2017 at Genesis Court Care in Hazlehurst. Mr. Davenport was born August 03, 1924 in Gilmer County, Georgia to the late William Claude Davenport and the late Ella Foster Davenport. He was a retired Painter and member of Satilla Free Will Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Waters and sister, Gladys Ash. Survivors include his wife of 78 years, Amy Lynn Davenport of Hazlehurst; daughters, Sheri Gibe of Las Vegas, Toni Hughes of Hazlehurst and Marie (Grover) Edge of Hazlehurst; sons, William Davenport, Robin (Brenda) Davenport, Joe (Gay) Davenport, Terry (Jackie) Davenport, Kenny (Jackie) Davenport all of Hazlehurst; sister, Lois Watters of Blue Ridge, Ga.; brother, Monte Davenport of Blue Ridge, Ga.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 11:00am at Satilla Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery.
