Abel Cabrera

Mr. Abel Cabrera, age 51, of Hazlehurst, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

He was born on September 1, 1973 in Las Balsas, Guerrero, Mexico. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual who cherished his family and had a special affection for his beloved dogs, Punchi and Zuma. Known for his warm sense of humor, he brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. He cherished Sundays spent with his brothers, going out to eat and playing dominos. He also loved watching soccer on TV.

Abel is preceded in death by his parents, Sabas Cabrera and Maria De La Luz Menera.

His family includes his son, Abel Cabrera, Jr.; his daughters, Zayra Cabrera-Chavez and Ashley Cabrera; his brothers, Eudosio Morales, Marcelo Cabrera, Jose Luz Cabrera, Julian Cabrera, and Evelio Cabrera; his sisters, Elvia Cabrera, Lidia Cabrera, Idolina Cabrera, and Daleyda Cabrera; his grandchildren, Jose Chavez-Cabrera and Keishla Chavez Cabrera; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 3:00 P.M. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until just prior to the service.

Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Esteban Ciriaco, Elodio Ciriaco, Guadalupe Herrera, Salomon Aleman, Luis Aleman, and Antonio Nuñez.

Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home and the Cabrera family are in charge of arrangements.
