Alice Katherine (Ripper) Johnson

Mrs. Alice Katherine Ripper Johnson, age 79, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, August 11, 2024, at her residence.

She was born on January 20, 1945, in Chicora PA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dale Ripper and Leeta Katherine Kelly Ripper and her brother, Ross Ripper.

Mrs. Alice always loved working in her yards, she loved pretty flowers and always wanted her yard to look nice for the folks passing by.

She was employed with White Southern (Jerry White) for many years, from keeping books, then that evolved into what she really enjoyed doing, woodworking.   Her family said she truly enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother, and she took that job very seriously.

She will be sadly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Dewey Wilcox Johnson, Jr. of Hazlehurst; two daughters, Cathy Darlene Hayden of Exeter New Hampshire and Melinda Ann Saylor of Brunswick; five grandchildren, Matthew King, Joel King, Julie Rentz, Forrest Hayden, and Jamie Hayden; several great-grandchildren also survived.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
