Mr. Allen Jerome Linebarger, age 56, of Hazlehurst, passed away Tuesday, May 06, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Linebarger was born on August 31, 1968, in Hazlehurst where he lived most of his life. At the age of 12, he survived a serious bicycle accident that changed the course of his life. He spent a year in a rehabilitation facility in Warm Springs, GA, bravely relearning how to walk, talk, and take care of himself. His journey was a testament to his resilience, strength, and will to overcome adversity.
He went on to work for Jeff Davis County as an attendant at the local trash collection site. He took great pride in his work and was known as a dependable, hard-working man who never shied away from doing what needed to be done and keeping the site in excellent condition.
Allen loved his family deeply. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially doing yard work, and found joy in the simple pleasures of life—like sharing coffee and conversation with his friends at local restaurants around town. He will be remembered for his determination, his kind heart, and the quiet strength he carried through life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Dale Linebarger and Maxine Turner Linebarger; his brother, Larry Maxwell Linebarger; and the mother of his children, Candy Lynn.
Survivors include his son, Jimmy Allen Linebarger (Jamie) of Hazlehurst; his daughter, Kayla Giddens (Josh) of Baxley; his sisters, Debra Griffin (Neb) of Hazlehurst, and Brenda Daniels (Freddie) of Alma; his brother, Ronnie Dale Linebarger (Zola Cason) of Hazlehurst; his grandchildren, Ethan and Haley Medders, and Baily Giddens; his dog, Lucky, and several nieces and nephews.
