Barbara Ann (Adams) Morton

Ms. Barbara Ann Morton, age 85, of Hazlehurst, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at her home.

She was born on June 22, 1939 to the late Aldie and Ethel Hill Adams. She was a true southern, classy, Christian lady that loved reading her Bible and watching her son Barry and her grandson Shane on Sunday morning live preaching the Gospel. She previously attended Bible Baptist Institute in Graceville, FL, and she was a member of Clayton Baptist Church in Clayton, Alabama. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed love and romance novels.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Beverly Morton; her great-grandson, Cadence King; her sister, Geraldine Adams; and her brother, Hoyt Adams.

Her family includes her sons, Tim (Tracy) Mason of Hazlehurst, and Barry (Pam) Mason of Tallahassee, FL; her daughter, Shari (Tommy) Traylor of Dothan, AL; her brothers, Billy (Doris) Adams of Ohio, Jimmy (Judy) Adams, and Lynn (Linda) Adams, all of Florida; four grandchildren, Shane (Rachel) Traylor, Cory (Candice) Mason, Ashley (Dylan) Davis, and Kayla (Justin) King; and 12 great-grandchildren, Garrett, Bekah, Kanlee, Ellie, Ally Grace, Barrett, Camden, Greyson, Brooklyn, Callie, Bailee, and Kayden.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 6, 2025 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home from 12:30 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. A graveside funeral service and interment will be held immediately following visitation at Rocky Creek Church of God Cemetery with Rev. Barry Mason and Rev. Shane Traylor officiating.  

Active pallbearers will be Tommy Traylor, Garrett Traylor, Cory Mason, Justin King, Dylan Davis, and Stacy Merritt.
