Ms. Barbara Ann Chapman Ursrey, age 85, of Hazlehurst, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Meadows Hospital in Vidalia.
Ms. Ursrey was born May 21, 1937 in Ellaville, Ga. She resided in Hazlehurst for the past 50 years and is preceded in death by her husband, Guy Norman Ursrey and son, Richard Jeffrey Ursrey.
Mrs. Ursrey spent her career as an executive administrator.
She enjoyed Interior design, gardening, dress making, antiques, and participating in church activities.
She was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church in Hazlehurst, where she taught 3rd and 4th grade Sunday School for more than 30 years.
Survivors include her sons, Mike Ursrey of Hazlehurst and Todd (JoBeth) Ursrey of Douglas Ga.; a daughter, Tami Ursrey Snowden (John) of Rincon, Ga.; sister-in-law, Gayle U. Wooten of St. Simons Island, Ga.; nephews, Larry Chapman of Winder, Ga. and Robert Chapman of Decatur Ga.; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 23rd at 5:00-7:00pm in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
Services will be held, Friday, June 24th at 10:00am at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Allen Hartsfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Satilla Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be all previous and active members of the First United Methodist Church of Hazlehurst.
Active pallbearers will be Larry Chapman, Robert Chapman, Dylan Ursrey, Bryan Snowden and Blake Snowden.
In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church to help provide the solar panel containers.
