Betty Varnadoe Obituary

Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Varnadoe, age 89, of Lumber City, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas.

She was born on August 17, 1935 in McRae to the late Randolph Leroy and Essie Stallworth Brewer. She was a native and lifelong resident of Lumber City and a member of Lumber City Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed word searches and watching sermons and Gospel music on TV. She was a good Mama and will be missed by her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Dean Varnadoe; her son, Bobby Varnadoe; her sister, Joyce Holt; and her brothers, Gus Brewer, Edwin Brewer, Frank James Brewer, Bo Brewer, and David Brewer.

Mrs. Betty’s family includes her sons, Chester Varnadoe (Norma Jean), and Raymond Varnadoe, all of Lumber City; her sister, Brenda Varnadoe of Warner Robins; her grandchildren, Kyle Varnadoe (Kelly), Chase Varnadoe (Stephanie), all of Hazlehurst, Deana Hyde (John) of Nashville, TN, and Chris Varnadoe (Anna) of Seoul, South Korea; her great-grandchildren, Charlie Kate Varnadoe, Chasen Varnadoe, Cade Varnadoe, Eden Varnadoe, Danielle Alexandra Varnadoe, Immanuella Josephine Varnadoe, Freyana Arielle Varnadoe, and Gabriella Angelique Banning; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and interment will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at Fishing Creek Cemetery in Lumber City with Rev. Ashley Tyree officiating.

Pallbearers will be Randy Brewer, Derek Brewer, Jonathan Hall, Michael Brewer, Keith Varnadoe, and Dwayne Varnadoe.

Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home and the Varnadoe Family are in charge of arrangements.
